Sandra C. Jenkins – Of Counsel

AREAS OF PRACTICE

Sandra Cabrina Jenkins is a graduate of Southern University Law Center, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She received her B.A. from Louisiana State University, with a major in Political Science and a Master of Public Administration, from Southern University, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Sandra is a former Assistant District Attorney for the Parish of Orleans and a former Staff Attorney for the Louisiana Fourth Circuit Court of Appeal. Sandra was appointed as a Criminal Justice Act Panel Attorney in the Eastern District of Louisiana on September 17, 1997. She was an Associate Attorney for Scheuermann and Jones, LLC, from 2000 to 2005 and is currently of counsel with the firm.

Sandra’s practice areas include: criminal defense in federal, state, juvenile, traffic and municipal courts. Over the past twenty-one (21) years of practice, Sandra has tried over 100 cases (jury and judge). She has filed numerous criminal appeals, applications for supervisory writs, applications for post conviction relief, and applications for writs of habeas corpus. While 90% of Sandra’s practice is criminal defense, she does represent clients who need her assistance with successions, wills, personal injury matters, employment issues, and uncontested divorces. Sandra is licensed to practice in all U.S. District Courts in the State of Louisiana and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

Throughout her professional career, Sandra has volunteered her services with community projects and programs. She has been a CASA, Teen Court volunteer, and Junior Achievement volunteer. Sandra is a member of First Emanuel Baptist Church where she serves on the Ministerial Staff, the curriculum committee, a writer for a daily prayer and devotional journal – GOD-365, and she teaches church school and vacation bible.

In 2010, Sandra joined the faculty of Xavier University of Louisiana. She teaches pre-law courses in the Political Science Department.
